Annotation
It has been widely acknowledged that internationalization of education and research is a crucial factor for improvements in any national educational system worldwide. Scientists argue that internationalisation is onnected with the process of integrating intercultural and international components into research and teaching levels. It is worth mentioning that internationalisation can be external and internal. In the framework of the current paper the authors focus on the external internationalisation that deals with international academic mobility and is connected with intercultural programs, world educational standards, and internationalization of educational programs or / and courses. The main reasons for higher education internationalisation are to promote the international profile of a university, attract foreign students, foster and widen partnership in education and research, build and develop intercultural communicative competence among domestic students and teaching staff. As a result, more and more countries, including the Russian Federation, keep promoting new initiatives to internationalise higher education. In response to this fact, there has been a significant upsurge in English medium instruction in tertiary education in non-native English-speaking environment.
