This work conducted a study of the uneven distribution of currents in the screens of three-phase groups of single-phase voltage cables up to 500 kV. This problem is especially relevant for the cable industry, since single-phase cross-linked polyethylene cables are used in networks of all classes of rated voltage due to their potential. In the qualification work, the components of the currents passing in the cable screens are examined, and the necessary theoretical information for studying the unevenness of the currents in the screens is studied. In this work, calculations of the component currents of the shields for cable lines were carried out with the simplest schemes for grounding the shields. Studies have been performed for circuits with transposition of screens, taking into account: the influence of the transposition group for different phase arrangements, the effect of the cross-section value and voltage class on the value of “unevenness”. The qualification paper discusses how installation errors can affect the value of “unevenness”. Based on the results obtained, conclusions are drawn, and various options are proposed to solve the problem of a large amount of current unevenness in the screens of single-phase cables during the acceptance of the line and its further operation.
