The subject of the graduate qualification work is “Real-time power cable thermal models for temperature monitoring purposes”. This work is devoted to the development of mathematical models and the creation of an algorithm for predicting the thermal regime at an arbitrary point on the cable line based on monitoring using fiber optic sensors. To solve the above problems, we used: theoretical methods of electrical engineering, methods of electrothermal modeling, methods of the Van Wormer Model, physical models in accordance with IEC 60287 and software packages and built-in functions and algorithms. The mathematical model proposed in this work can be used as the basis for calculating the thermal process of power cables in real time, since its sufficiency was confirmed by experimental studies. After clarification, given the work of specific cable lines, the model can be used in equipment and systems for continuous diagnostics of power cables by thermal parameters.
