The subject of the graduate qualification work is «Development of principles for testing fiber-optic interferometers with Faraday rotator mirrors for resistance to polarizing fading». The given work is devoted to the possibility of organizing testing of fiber-optic interferometric circuits with Faraday rotator mirrors for resistance to polarization fading, by scanning the states of polarization at the input of the interferometric circuit. The theoretical dependences of the contrast of the output signal of a two-beam Michelson interferometer on the input polarization state and polarization transformations in the arms of the interferometer are considered. The possibility of detecting a minimum of contrast is demonstrated if at least one of the reflectors is an ideal Faraday mirror. Various aspects of the practical implementation of such an approach to testing are considered. Criteria are proposed for estimating the filling density of the Poincare sphere by experimental points. Algorithms are proposed for processing measurement data to detect the minimum value of the contrast of the interference signal, requiring the least number of measurements. The results obtained because of the work can be applied at the final stages of the production process of fiber-optic interferometric systems for various purposes, as well as when testing such systems during operation.
