This work is devoted to the calculation of a free-piston gas generator and turbocharger. A thermodynamic calculation of the FPGG, compressor and turbine were carried out. As part of the calculation, the main geometric features of the free piston gas generator were determined. The relevance of the topic is due to the high shortage of such small-sized and easily transportable compressor equipment on the market. Free piston generators can find their application in hard-to-reach areas of oil and gas production. These units have a simple design and are easy to install and maintain. The FPGG considered in this work can operate on different types of fuel: liquid, gaseous, heavy fuel oil. The equipment can be operated in difficult weather conditions, including in permafrost areas. No highly qualified personnel are required to service the unit, but a special certification must be passed. To achieve this goal, the following tasks were set: to carry out a thermodynamic calculation of FPGG at a power of 2 MW, to carry out a gas-dynamic calculation of a centrifugal compressor, to calculate a turbine, and to develop recommendations for the operation of FPGG.
