Тема выпускной квалификационной работы: «События в Гонконге 2019–2020 гг. в освещении американскими средствами массовой информации». Предметом исследования является освещение событий, происходящих в Гонконге в 2019-2020 году, американскими средствами массовой информации. Целью работы является комплексный анализ статей американских изданий, освещающих события в Гонконге. Для написания работы использовались методы синтеза и анализа для получения информации из средств массовой информации, контент-анализ использовался для изучения освещения событий американской прессой. Задачи, которые были поставлены при написании работы: Проанализировать протесты в Гонконге с исторической точки зрения, найти причины их возникновения; Охарактеризовать картину современного Гонконга в качестве территории Китая; Выявить причины, социальных разногласий между Гонконгом и КНР; Проанализировать отношения КНР и США на современном этапе, их историю и причины конфликтов; Проанализировать статьи американских изданий. В работе даны история колониального Гонконга, Гонконг при политике «Одна страна – две системы», предпосылки для возникновения социального конфликта, позиция США по вопросы Гонконга. Проведен подробный анализ оценок, критики и мнения СМИ двух американских изданий The Washington Post и The New York Times, выделены их характерные черты. В результате проведенного исследования было выявлено, что в целом мнения и взгляды данных авторитетных изданий о конфликте являются схожими.

The subject of the graduate qualification work is: "Events in Hong Kong 2019–2020 in the coverage of the American media". The aim of the work is the coverage of events that took in Hong Kong in 2019–2020 by the American media. The purpose of the work is the comprehensive analysis of the articles from American publications covering events in Hong Kong. To write the paper, synthesis and analysis methods were used to obtain information from the media, content analysis was used to study the coverage of events by the American press. The research set the following goals: To analyze the protests in Hong Kong from a historical point of view, find the reasons for their occurrence; To characterize modern Hong Kong as the territory of China; To identify the causes of social divisions between Hong Kong and China; To analyze the relations between China and the United States at the present stage, their history and causes of conflicts; To analyze the articles of American publications. The paper presents the history of colonial Hong Kong, Hong Kong under the "One country – two systems" policy, the prerequisites for the emergence of social conflict, the US position on Hong Kong issues. The assessments, criticism and opinions of the media of the two American publications, The Washington Post and The New York Times are analyzed in detail. The Washington Post and The New York Times is conducted; their characteristic features are highlighted. As a result of the research, it was revealed that, in general, the opinions and views of these authoritative publications of the conflict are similar.
