The subject of the graduate qualification work is “Low carbon(~0.1% С) martensite steel. The purpose of this work is to study the possibilities of MTEX extension for MATLAB in order to determine the parent austenite phase from the initial data of the child phase of ferrite. In this work the EBSD analysis method, the structural features of martensitic and bainitic steels and the mathematical apparatus for describing in spatial orientation were considered in much detail. Furthermore, the ideology of γ-phase reconstruction was discussed, as well as the matrix apparatus used in the MTEX extension for MATLAB. The result of this work is a set of orientation maps of the child phase. Ultimately, the grain boundaries of the parent phase were obtained, which was the goal of this work. Assignment of the final qualifying work was done completely.
