Preliminary design procedure at the mean-line still plays an essential role in the early stages of the axial flow turbine design and analysis. Despite recent advances in aerodynamics and efficiency of modern axial flow turbines, an alternative fuel such as hydrogen or otherwise could change the game in the energy industry. As a result, axial flow turbines, particularly in gas turbine units, must adapt to any possible transition that may necessitate changes in the axial flow turbine's known configuration. The preliminary design's fluid mechanics, methods, and correlation were conducted in an attempt to propose or improve an existing mean-line design calculation method. Collective method of preliminary design calculation at the mean- line were proposed, and a case study was used demonstrate its applicability. More case studies are suggested to examine and improve the method.
