Annotation
The article views both the general peculiarities of ESL teaching at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Sciences of SPbU and the experience of ESL teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic. It presents the ways of adapting teach¬ing methods and practices typical of the Artes Liberales system of education to distance learning, discusses the reasons for choosing the Zoom platform for ESL teaching, and provides practical notes about class structuring that helped to motivate students and maintain team spirit in ESL groups.
