Master thesis is devoted to assessing the potential explosion and fire hazard of the tanks of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the facilities of its large turnover, and methods for the elimination and prevention of accidents fire and explosion hazard at such facilities. In the first Chapter of the master thesis the author substantiates the classification of LNG facilities as potentially dangerous objects, and also analyzes the physical-chemical properties of LNG, which provide increased fire and explosion hazard, describes the protected object and an occurred accident. In the second Chapter of the master thesis is the estimation of the time and volumes of LNG from the expiration of the emergency reservoir, as well as assessment of factors affecting fire and explosion in the protected object: the magnitude of the overpressure in the explosion of LNG vapors and the intensity of thermal radiation at their ignition in case of fire spill, and fire a "fireball". The third Chapter of the master thesis is devoted to the analysis of methods of liquidation of fires on LNG tank; there are also formulated proposals for improving the level of explosion and fire safety of large insulated LNG tank.
