The aim is to study the methods of calculation of fire protection of steel structures. The problem with this study is that for intumescent coatings, as such, there are no exact methods of calculation. The paper explored the applicability of the calculation for the plate materials to intumescent paints. The results are compared with experimental data producers. Conclusions about the applicability of this technique, the range of use and errors.
