The work is devoted to composite materials based on aluminum. The literature review presents data on traditional composite materials based on aluminum, hardened by aluminum oxide, as well as new materials where carbon nanomaterials are used as the hardening phase. The types and methods of producing carbon nanostructures are considered in detail. In the experimental part of the final qualifying work, the properties of the composite material of the aluminum-carbon system were studied. The starting material used was a composite powder material aluminum - 2 wt. % Carbon nanofibers. Carbon nanofibers were synthesized on the surface of aluminum powder grade PA-4 from the gas phase. The material was processed in a planetary mill to mechanically alloy and dilute the material aluminum-carbon nanofibers with pure aluminum powder to a carbon concentration of 0.7 wt. %. Compact materials aluminum - carbon nanofibers obtained by hot extrusion at a temperature of 440 - 460 °C. The material had a hardness of 111 HV with an electrical resistance of 0.042 О𝑚∙𝑚𝑚2𝑚⁄. The effect of annealing at a temperature of 480 ° C on the hardness and electrical resistance of materials is investigated. It was found that an increase in annealing time reduces the hardness of the material by relieving residual stresses. After 4 hours of annealing, the electrical resistance slightly decreases. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the composite material is determined. The electrical resistance varies slightly for all samples obtained at an extrusion temperature of 420 - 440 °C.
