The subject of the graduate qualification work is «Groundwater Quality Assessment of an Indian City». The given work is devoted to studying the groundwater quality assessment and that was carried out in Gajraula, Ghaziabad, Sambhal, Meerut & Saharanpur towns of the Uttar Pradesh (U.P), India. The following are the major tasks of the research.Conduct an analysis of the physical and chemical parameters of groundwater (color, pH, salinity, hardness, alkalinity, and others). Perform water analysis for the content of heavy metals and arsenic. Assess the impact of industrial facilities on the composition of the studied water. Water samples were taken from 12 different locations in April 2022. The results of the analyses showed that for a number of indicators (colour, pH, salinity, hardness, alkalinity, chlorides, fluorides, nitrates and phosphates), the water complies (and or in most samples meets) the WHO and BIS standards. The concentrations of nickel, copper, lead, manganese, total iron, total chromium, total arsenic and zinc meet the BIS standards, for some indicators, the values exceed the WHO standard or were at the upper limit of the BIS standard. Therefore, a certain degree of treatment is required before using groundwater in some study areas in order to protect people's health from various waterborne diseases caused by contaminated drinking water.
