This work considers lexical features of Canadian French in the media. The research involved using such methods as analysis and abstracting of scientific literature on the given topic, descriptive method, and methods of comparative and quantitative analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that Canadian French has a number of lexical features which distinguish it from the French language. The comparative analysis of some selected lexical units allowed to identify the sources of Canadian French vocabulary replenishment and the most productive way of word formation. The quantitative analysis of French canadianisms in the media was also carried out. According to the results of the analysis, it was possible to identify the most common word groups, as well as to establish that these lexical units are in active use in the Canadian French media at the present time. The presented results may be used in the course of linguistics while studying culture-oriented linguistics and dialects of the French language, as well as in further scientific research on the topic.
