The work is a review of a wide range of literature data aimed at studying the phenomenon of hydrogen diffusion and cold cracks in underwater welding. The possibility of modeling diffusion processes in a welded joint by analytical and numerical methods of finite differences at a constant temperature and considering changes in diffusion properties from temperature is studied. A detailed description and processing of the results of the experiment on surfacing with self-protective powder wire in order to determine the content of diffusive hydrogen is given. Tasks to be solved in the process of writing the work: 1. To conduct a detailed analysis of the published information on hydrogen diffusion and its effect on the properties of the welded joint in an aqueous medium; to give a critical analysis of national and foreign literature; 2. To develop physical and mathematical models of hydrogen diffusion in an underwater welded joint; 3. Develop a computer program for calculating hydrogen diffusion in a welded joint; 4. Solve the diffusion problem by the finite difference method at a constant temperature and considering the temperature dependences of the properties of materials; 5. Conducting an experiment on underwater surfacing with powder wire. To process experimental data: to investigate the influence of the aqueous me-dium during welding of low-carbon steel.
