Проанализированы композиция и идейное содержание малоизвестного произведения английского философа-моралиста первой четверти XVIII в. Бернарда Мандевиля (1670-1733) - памфлета "Расследование причин участившихся казней в Тайберне". Выявлено отношение его автора к современной ему системе английского уголовного правосудия. Рассмотрено целостное представление о преступнике и преступности в общественном сознании в то время. Философ обосновывает предположение, что причины роста преступности сокрыты в особенностях общественного отношения к этому феномену, т. е. социально обусловлены.
Analyzed composition and the ideological content of little-known works of the English philosopher and moralist of the first quarter of the eighteenth century by Bernard Mandeville (1670-1733) - pamphlet "the investigation of the causes of the frequent executions in Taberna". To identify the attitude of the author towards contemporary the English system of criminal justice. Considered a holistic view of the offender and crime in the public mind at the time. The philosopher justifies the assumption that the causes of crime are rooted in the peculiarities of social attitude to this phenomenon, i.e. socially determined.
