Ion physics in outer space and on-board is under short consideration. We focus on ionization, desorption, ion sputtering, mass-to-charge analysis, particle acceleration and trapped motion in electromagnetic field, electrical propulsion, and so on. A brief analysis of ion mass spectrometry physical background, technologies, and applications in space is provided. Several specific challenging cases present actual tasks of ion technology and massspectrometry in space.
