This paper presents a new method for protecting mobile drilling platforms from soil erosion near its foundations. Proposes the protection system from erosion by installation of two sheet piling rows in the form of convex curved vertical surfaces relative to longitudinal axis of the platform. The work presents the derivation of a formula to calculate the most effective geometrical sizes of the protective structure. The proposed type of protection is the most effective from the standpoint of laborsaving: the possibility of multiple and rapid erection and dismantling of protective structure and minimal use of riprap are provided. Also it this work there were presented experimental studies. They were performed to obtain and analyze quantitative information about the seabed surface near the gravity-type platform under impact of tsunami-type waves.
