Annotation
The aim of the work was to study the role of antibodies to a modified low-density lipoprotein (mLDL) in atherogenesis. In the work, the blood samples of 163 patients were examined. This cohort was divided into 3 groups: patients with coronary heart disease, patients with preclinical atherosclerosis and healthy individuals. In all patients, lipid profile, levels of antibodies (IgG and IgM classes) to LDL that was modified by malondialdehyde, or hypochlorite, or acetic anhydride, as well as the concentration of cholesterol in circulating immune complexes (cholesterol-CIC) were determined. In another part of the work, some of the biological properties of human antibodies to mLDL were studded using THP-1 line of macrophages.
