Annotation
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are an integral part of the building environment. One of the clever ways of reducing the level of VOCs in buildings is the use of air filters. One of the main compounds found in buildings is formaldehyde, which is emitted by substances used daily to day life. Ultimately, formaldehyde has negative health effects on occupants. The main focus of this paper is to determine and compare the efficiency of different filter media, such as granulated coal, coal+ion exchange material and ion exchange material, when removing the main quantitative compound, i.e. formaldehyde.
