В работе раскрывается сущность и содержание международно – правовых аспектов защиты прав женщин и детей, а именно история становления данных институтов, система гарантий прав женщин, механизм защиты прав детей и существующие проблемы обеспечения защиты данных категорий лиц. Изучено действующее международное законодательство и нормативные – правовые акты Российской Федерации в сфере защиты прав женщин и детей. Кроме того, были предложены направления развития законодательства по данному вопросу.

The paper reveals the essence and content of the international legal aspects of the protection of the rights of women and children, namely the history of the formation of these institutions, the system of guarantees of women's rights, the mechanism of protection of the rights of children and the existing problems of ensuring the protection of these categories of persons. Studied the current international legislation and the law of the Russian Federation in the field of the protection of the rights of women and children. In addition, directions for the development of legislation on this issue were proposed.
