The subject of the graduate qualification work is “Analysis of steady-state and transient modes in the 500/220 kV electric power system”. This work is devoted to the design and research of various modes of operation in the 500/220 kV electric power system. Tasks that were solved during the research: 1. Selection of elements of the electric power system. 2. Calculation of the steady-state operation of the electric power system. 3. Calculation of asymmetric short-circuit currents. 4. Calculation of the dynamic stability of the electric power system. 5. Measures to improve static stability. The calculation of the steady-state operation mode was performed analytically and using the “Rastr” software package. Short-circuit currents are calculated using the symmetric component method. Dynamic stability is calculated using the «Dymola» software package. As a result, it was found that the studied power system is redundant. The resulting single-phase short-circuit current was 9.811 kA. To increase stability, the automatic generator excitation regulator was configured and a controlled shunt reactor was installed at the beginning of line 2.
