This work is devoted to the study of the aperiodic component of the current of circuit breakers of cable lines with reactors, as well as the assessment of possible ways to deal with it by using included resistors and longitudinal switching devices. Tasks that were solved in the course of the work: 1. Calculation of cable line parameters. 2. Calculation of line lengths depending on the compensation coefficients of cable lines 110, 330, 500 kV. 3. Construction of a cable lines model with reactor in the EMTP software package. 4. The study of the aperiodic current of the circuit breaker in cable lines 110-500 kV with a shunt reactor. Based on the results of the study, conclusions about the effectiveness of using described methods to combat the aperiodic component of the circuit breaker current in cable lines were drawn and recommendations on the use of appropriate methods for each voltage class given. Comparison is done with the results obtained on a similar problem present on the air lines.
