The design of the vacuum contactor KW is analyzed-1,14-2,5/160 in order to increase reliability in the mode of switching off small inductive currents. A mathematical model has been developed to modernize the device. A numerical experiment with a mathematical model was performed. Numerical simulation results showed that increasing the speed of contact movement 5 of vacuum arc-extinguishing devices from 0.2 m/s to 1 m/s reduces the arc Gorenje time from 4 to 0.5 m / s in the nominal mode when switching off currents less than the cut-off current. Increasing the speed of the drive leads to the improvement of the electromagnetic mechanism, this helps to eliminate such a disadvantage as a large contact resistance in the closed state, and also allows you to increase the contactor parameter such as the number of switching times per hour. Thus, the increased speed of the mobile contact leads to a reduction in the time of re-ignition of the arc when switching off small inductive currents. The increased speed of the drive will increase the number of possible switching times per hour. Also, the enhanced electromagnetic mechanism will increase the contact pressure and reduce the inter-contact resistance.
