This work contains the use of carbide waste as a material for improving the strength and wear resistance of a tool. To be more precise, the use of recycled carbide (grains) for surfacing on a drilling tool using a welding machine. The task was set to check the effectiveness of the developed method, as well as to simulate the tool in the CAD program. The Compass 3D program was used for modeling. Tool modeling was necessary to visualize the surfacing zones for workers and for the customer, as well as for convenient counting of the deposited area. The surfacing was implemented on several different drilling instruments to test the alloy in different conditions and loads. However, only drilling crowns were able to conduct tests with finished results. As a result, surfacing was carried out on various drilling tools, as well as testing one sample in real conditions.
