РФ и КНР имеет богатую историю в сфере туризма, в последние десятилетия особенно быстро имеет развития приграничный туризм. Развитие в приграничных районах РФ и КНР упирается в качественные социально-экономические и природные условия. Наиболее активно туристическое сотрудничество между Дальним Востоком РФ и Северо-Востоком КНР стало развиваться в середине 2000-х годов, когда туризм между регионами рассматривался как часть культурного обмена. Важнейший «План сотрудничества между Российской Федерацией и Восточной Сибирью и Северо-Восточным Китаем (2009-2018)» был реализован. В программе были прописаны дальнейшие перспективы и планы для формирования туризма между Россией и Китаем, и в частности, между приграничными районами РФ и КНР. Программа рассматривала следующие мероприятия: «Создание в приграничных районах маршрутов Российско-Китайской дружбы по центральным городам на Востоке России и Китая, проведение международных туристских форумов в пограничных городах двух стран, организация туристических маршрутов по Российско-Китайским пограничным рекам и других совместных трансграничных туристических маршрутов, она дала новый импульс для развития туризма между странами».

The Russian Federation and the PRC has a rich history in the field of tourism; in recent decades, cross-border tourism has developed particularly rapidly. The most active tourism cooperation between the Far East of the Russian Federation and the Northeast of the PRC began to develop in the mid-2000s, when tourism between the regions was considered as part of cultural exchange. The most important “Plan of cooperation between the Russian Federation and Eastern Siberia and Northeast China (2009-2018)” was implemented. The program outlined further prospects and plans for the formation of tourism between Russia and China, and in particular, between the border regions of the Russian Federation and China. The program considered the following events: “the creation of Russian-Chinese friendship routes in the border regions of central cities in the east of Russia and China, the holding of international tourism forums in the border cities of the two countries, the organization of tourist routes along the Russian-Chinese border rivers and other joint cross-border tourist routes, she gave a new impetus to the development of tourism between countries ”.
