The work is devoted to studying of processes in the VR32 breaker contact system with rated current of 100A. The goals of the research: 1. Research documents regulating the design and testing of circuit breakers with voltage up to 1000 V. 2. Analysis of modern theory in the design of contact systems. 3. Development of a model of a VR32 circuit breaker with a rated current of 100 A. 4. Numerical modeling of processes in the Comsol Multiphysics program. 5. Optimization of the geometric parameters of the model with the results obtained. The geometry of the contact system of the circuit breaker was created in the Simulink software. After that the geometry was imported into the Comsol Multiphysics program. Numerical simulation of the contact system process with the flow of rated current and thermal current was carried out. After analyzing the results, the contact geometry was reduced to save space in placement and to save materials.
