This work is devoted to the development of a 6-bit phase shifter. The aim of this work is to design a 6-bit phase shifter with an extended range of operating frequencies due to the use of high-order phase-shifting circuits using parametric optimization. To achieve this goal, the following methods are used. At the beginning, the phase-shifting circuits are calculated using approximate formulas to obtain an initial approximation for parametric optimization. Further, in order to compensate for the influence of parasitic elements, the scheme uses gradient descent optimization, after which each of the 6 phase-shifting cells acquires characteristics that meet the requirements. The final step is to combine the cells in the order in which the adjacent cells would be as consistent as possible. The result is a phase shifter consisting of 6 phase-shifting cells, with a phase step of 5.625°. Phase shifters are widely used in the field of phased antenna arrays, where devices that allow changing the phase of the signal are needed to form the beam, rotate it, and transform the wave front into a flat one. Since the value of the beam rotation is often strictly defined, due to the simplicity of construction and small size, it is advantageous to use discrete phase shifters. Thus, in the conditions of active development of wireless communication systems, including 5G, as well as radar, the work has a high relevance and a high probability of practical application.
