A subject of the graduate qualification work is “Numerical simulation of ion transport in a drift mass spectrometer based on one-dimensional differential equations”. The paper considers a mathematical model for the operation of a drift mass spectrometer. As a result of the accepted simplifications, two modules can be distinguished in the model: a hydrodynamic module, which allows one to obtain the flow structure in the chamber of a drift spectrometer, and an electric one, which tracks the movement of ions as a set of transport processes under the action of an electric field and hydrodynamic velocity. The velocity field in the drift chamber was obtained by solving the Navier-Stokes system of equations using the Ansys Fluent software package. From this field, by averaging in the "fluid tube", the value of the axial velocity component along the chamber axis was obtained. The electrical module includes the Poisson equation and the required number of charge balance equations. To implement the electrical module, a program code was compiled for the joint solution of a system of equations consisting of the Poisson equation and equations describing the transport of ions. The developed computational model of the process of ion motion in the drift space makes it possible to obtain the ion mobility spectra from the initial parameters of the sample under study.
