The subject of the research work is microstrip filters. The aim of the work is to analyze tunable microstrip bandpass filters based on controlled substrates. The principle of microstrip filter operation, different implementations of basic filter topologies and different filter tuning mechanisms were studied; the basic structures of microstrip bandpass filters were modeled. Also the influence of dielectric constant on the central frequency of the device was explored, the microstrip bandpass filter with parallel coupled resonators with LC-substrate characteristics tuned to a central frequency of 1,45 GHz and having a bandwidth of 80 MHz was selected and developed. The influence of the substrate thickness on the amplitude-frequency curve of such a filter was studied and a configuration of the filter with alternating substrates was proposed.
