This work is devoted to the study of granulomatous inflammation accompanying tuberculosis of the respiratory organs. As part of this study, the dependence of the expression of the Cx37 and Cx43 proteins on the degree of inflammation activity in pulmonary tuberculosis was analyzed. During the study, an immunohistochemical analysis of histological materials of patients containing granulomas, cavities and surrounding lung tissues was carried out using dyes-antibodies to selected proteins. When analyzing the results obtained, an increase in the level of Cx43 was demonstrated both for the cell elements of the tuberculoma wall and for the immune cells of the granuloma with the resolution of tuberculous inflammation. These results correlate with the nature of the dependence of the Cx43 protein level with a decrease in the degree of inflammatory processes and the transition of active inflammation to the resolution stage. An increase in the expression of the Cx37 protein inside granulomas and the connective tissue component of tuberculomas was also shown during the transition of inflammation from the active stage to its resolution. The data obtained correlate with the dependence of Cx37 levels on the stage of activity of the inflammatory process. Thus, the proteins of the gap junctions Cx43 and Cx37 can be used as criteria for the differential diagnosis of the stages of inflammation in pulmonary tuberculosis.
