The object of research in this thesis is the 110/35/6 kV "Lesnaya" substation. The scheme with two independent sources of power for this substation was chosen based on considerations of reliability. The consumers of this substation are the 35 kV switchgear and the 6 kV switchgear, which receive electricity through two power transformers. In case of a failure on one of the lines or planned maintenance of any equipment, it is possible to continue the power supply through the remaining operational block using a sectional switch or a repair jumper. The aim of the research is to design a substation using the modern IEC 61850 protocol. The design tasks included choosing the main scheme of electric connections for the substation, selecting the main electrical equipment and calculating short-circuit currents, designing information and logical interconnections, as well as substation functions with reference to primary equipment based on IEC 61850. The graphic design is an integral part of any design work. The main scheme of electric connections is presented during the design of this substation, which fully reflects the selected electrical equipment, the power scheme, and includes the distribution of protection and measurement devices among secondary substations and transformer substations. Additionally, the graphic design shows the substation functions with reference to the main equipment.
