The work is devoted to the study the coherent spin dynamics in two tunnel coupled CdMnTe/CdMgTe (narrow) and CdTe/CdMgTe (wide) quantum wells. The measured sample was in a magnetic field perpendicular to the direction of the excitation beam (Voigt geometry). Spin dynamics was measured with picosecond resolution in pump-probe mode using the Kerr spin effect, which consists in the rotation of the plane of linear polarization of the probing pulse during the optical orientation of electron spins in the sample. A titanium sapphire (Ti:Sa) laser with tunable wavelength and 1.5 ps pulse duration following at 80 MHz is used to excite the spins. During measurements of the Kerr signals, a rapidly decaying component of the signal from a narrow quantum well with a g-factor corresponding to the electron is registered, although all carriers from it rapidly tunnel into a wide quantum well through the tunnel-transparent barrier. Analysis of the data shows that the Kerr signal observed in the narrow quantum well is due to the signal from the wide quantum well and is induced by the exchange interaction.
