This work is devoted to the study of the influence of variations in the magnitude and direction of the Earths magnetic field on the frequency stability of small-sized rubidium atomic clocks, as well as to the consideration of a method for suppressing this influence. The object of research in the work is a small-sized rubidium atomic clock. The paper presents the rationale for the need for the ongoing research related to the study of the effect of geomagnetic field variations on the frequency stability characteristics of on-board atomic clocks used on mobile objects of terrestrial and space systems, and also experimentally demonstrated this effect, which turned out to be significant in cases where the magnitude of the external geomagnetic field is on the order of tenths of an oersted, which corresponds to the cases of terrestrial and low-orbit systems. The proposed method for suppressing the influence of geomagnetic field variations on the frequency of onboard atomic clocks was developed and experimentally verified. The obtained coefficient of suppression of such an influence was 1.45 for the case of high-orbit satellites (main satellites) with the magnitude of the Earths magnetic field on the order of hundredths of an oersted.
