Данная работа посвящена рассмотрению взаимосвязи языка и общества, процессов изменения словарного состава языка и анализу рейтингов Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres. Целью работы является изучение специфики отражения общественно-политической жизни Германии в рейтингах Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres. К задачам относится: изучение социальных функций языка и его взаимосвязи с культурой; выявление факторов, влияющих на процесс изменения лексического запаса языка; анализ рейтингов Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres, как отражения общественно-политической жизни Германии. В результате исследования было выявлено, что язык и общество неразрывно связаны. Наиболее значимые для общества события находят отражение в языке, что наглядно продемонстрировано на примере рейтингов Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres. Анализ рейтингов позволил выявить основные темы, волнующие немецкое общество, а именно: окружающая среда и климат; сфера политики, как внешняя, так и внутренняя; социальная сфера и общественные настроения; терроризм; миграция. Словообразовательный анализ рейтингов позволил установить, что большинство слов из рейтинга были образованы с помощью словосложения, заимствования и изменения смысла  уже существующего в языке слова.

This work is devoted to the review of the interconnection between language and society, change processes in the lexical stock of the language and analysis of the Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres ratings. The purpose of the work is to study the specifics of the reflection of the socio-political life of Germany in the Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres ratings. The tasks that were solved during the study: study of the social functions of language and its connection with culture; definition of factors influencing the process of changing the lexical stock of the language; analysis of Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres ratings as a reflection of the socio-political life of Germany. The study revealed that language and the society are inextricably linked. The most significant social events are reflected in the language, which is clearly demonstrated by the example of the Wort des Jahres / Unwort des Jahres ratings. The analysis of the ratings made it possible to identify the main topics of concern to German society, namely: the environment and climate; the sphere of politics, both external and internal; the social sphere and public sentiment; terrorism; migration. The word-formation analysis of the ratings allowed us to establish that most of the words from the rating were formed with the help of word composition, borrowing and changing the meaning of a word already existing in the language.
