The work is devoted to the study of the effect of high welding speed on the mechanical properties and microstructure of joints obtained by friction stir welding of heat-treatable aluminum alloys 6082-T6 and 7075-T6. The research sets the following goals: 1. Investigation of the mechanical properties of the joint in various types of welding. 2. Investigation of the macrostructure of the weld. 3. Investigation of the microhardness of the joints. During the study, tensile tests were carried out to determine the ultimate strength, yield strength and elongation, photographs of macro- and microstructure were taken, and the microhardness of welded joints was measured. Based on the data obtained, dependency graphs were constructed showing the microhardness distributions in the welded joint. An increase in the welding speed led to a decrease in the grain size in the stir zone, a narrowing of the width of the heat affected zone and a slight change in mechanical properties.
