In this work, frequency dependences of dielectric characteristics and volt-ampere characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol films were obtained and analyzed. According to the obtained data, the values of activation energies of conductivity at application of alternating and constant electric fields were calculated. The frequency dependences of dielectric characteristics and volt-ampere characteristics for films with different thermal histories were investigated. It was shown that annealing at a higher temperature improves the characteristics under AC electric field application, with little or no effect on the characteristics in a DC electric field. A comparison was made between the modeled and experimentally obtained Cole-Cole diagrams. It was shown that the Debye model is too simple to describe the processes in the material under study.
