The aim of this study is to develop, and practically assess a methodology for English-language discursive competence development for students majoring in HRM. The aim makes it possible to formulate the following research objectives: 1. to investigate the distinctive features of English-language professional communication in the sphere of HRM; 2. to identify the key features of HRM discourse; 3. to analyze discursive competence as a component of communicative competence and clarify its content in terms of HRM discourse 4. to develop the content for fostering English-language discursive competence of students specializing in HRM 5. to carry out the selection of linguistic material for developing English-language discursive competence of HRM students 6. to create a set of activities and tasks for developing English-language discursive competence of HRM students 7. to test experimentally the effectiveness of the methodology for developing English-language discursive competence of HRM students The relevance of the research is ensured by several factors: - the lack of a holistic scientifically-based concept of developing English-language professional discursive competence; - the lack of methodology for developing English-language professional discursive competence; - the need for qualified specialists in the field of HRM, able to carry out English-language professional communication; - insufficient level of proficiency of HR-students in the ability to carry out English-language professional communication; The sources of information were data from domestic and foreign scientific research literature, official Internet resources and analytical agencies. The study resulted in set of activities and tasks aimed at developing discursive competence of students majoring in HRM.
