The aim of the research is to design a set of exercises for teaching English phraseological units using Edutainment technology. The research set the following goals: • to define the concept of Edutainment technology, its functions and use in the context of the foreign language education; • to analyse the theoretical foundations of lexical skills formation, focusing on the significance of teaching phraseological units; • to describe approaches, principles, and tools used within the framework of Edutainment technology employed to enhance learning of phraseological vocabulary; • to design a set of exercises for teaching phraseological units to undergraduate students majoring in management implementing Edutainment technology; • to conduct the pedagogical experiment and assess its results. The relevance of the problem is confirmed by the following points: 1. The process of globalization creates a need for specialists with a high level of developed foreign language communicative competence. 2. The importance of ICC formation is confirmed by FSES (UC-4, GPC-9). 3. The clip thinking of students requires the use of additional technologies such as Edutainment. 4. Digital transformation of education. The data for the research were collected from Russian and foreign research literature and official Internet resources. The study resulted in a developed set of exercises for teaching English phraseological units, which was successfully tested when working with students majoring in management at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The evaluation of the results of the pedagogical experiment made it possible to assess the effectiveness of the author’s set of exercises.
