In recent years, the construction industry has developed rapidly in China. The production, operation, and maintenance of the entire life cycle of buildings require a large amount of energy. Huge energy-consuming buildings have brought energy pressure to China, which in turn has caused environmental degradation, energy shortages, limited economic development, and other problems. Traditional architectural design solutions have become an obstacle to "carbon peak and carbon neutrality", one of the eight key tasks determined by Chinas Central Economic Work Conference in 2021. BIM is a technology that integrates large amounts of data into architectural design models. The application of BIM technology provides more efficient support for green building design. Make building design more detailed and diversified and help the construction industry move towards a more energy-saving and environmentally friendly direction. This thesis summarizes the research results of green building optimization design based on BIM technology domestic and abroad, analyzes, optimizes, and evaluates the energy consumption, lighting, and wind environment of green buildings based on the climate conditions of Xian, Shanxi. By using Ecotect software to optimize the building wind environment, indoor lighting, and building energy consumption, choose better design solutions. The study found that compared with the unoptimized plan, there is no obvious vortex field in the building community after the optimization, the natural lighting effect is improved, and the building energy consumption is reduced. These research results provide new ideas for promoting the development of BIM technology and green buildings, improve the optimization design methods of green buildings from the theoretical and application levels.
