The given work is devoted to identifying the radiological impacts of a postulated nuclear accident at El-Dabaa nuclear power plant on Saudi Arabia for developing the National Protection Strategy. The research set the following goals: To characterize and evaluate an emergency situation in El-Dabaa Nuclear Power Plant. To assess the distribution and transportation of radioactive materials. To assess the radiological consequences and the effectiveness of possible protective actions. As a result, a postulated emergency situation was characterized and evaluated, then the most suitable parameters were determined. The radioactive materials release and their transfer through the environment was assessed. The deposition of radioactive material into the environment and the total potential effective dose to the public were calculated, then the possible protective actions were identified. The radiological impacts on Saudi Arabia were identified. To achieve these results, information technologies were used in the work: HotSpot – a tool for dose prognosis; JRodos – a real-time online decision support system for nuclear emergency management; MS Word – the program for creating the report; MS PowerPoint – the program for creating presentations of a report; OriginPro – a program for creating graphs.
