The aim of the study is to develop a list of recommendations for the production of ceramic stones with the use of waste heap processing screenings based on previously conducted studies and development of coal industry in Russia. The study was carried out on the basis of research and experiments of using screenings of waste heap processing of Eastern Donbass for production of ceramic stones conducted by the group of students and professors at Don State Technical University located in Rostov-on-Don. Research subject: previously conducted research and experiments in the field of using waste heap screenings for analyzing its composition and justifying its applicability for production of ceramic stones. Research methods: general scientific research methods: comparative analysis, evaluation of economic efficiency, in-depth interviews. The main results of the study: – identification of what problems waste heaps can cause and their possible solutions; identification of key elements in content of waste heaps and how they influence properties of end products; – conduction of market analysis of ceramic blocks production, therefore, highlighting the importance and actuality of the topic; – identification of key advantages and risks and conduction of a list of recommendations for the production of ceramic stones based on waste heap processing screenings. Application field: production of ceramic blocks. The scientific novelty of the study is using waste heaps screenings as the main raw material instead of clay for production of ceramic blocks. Conclusions. The tasks of the thesis are solved, the goal is achieved, and the scope of application of the results is determined. The results obtained show signs of scientific novelty. The directions of further research are defined.
