The aim of the research is to develop and prove the effectiveness of methodological materials and activity forms related to the use of project-based learning to enhance skills for mediating concepts in the process of foreign language teaching. The research sets the following goals: 1. To examine the concept and structure of mediation skills in the process of teaching foreign languages to bachelor’s degree students. 2. To identify the features and approaches to the enhancement of mediation skills, mediating concepts in particular. 3. To examine the concept and content of project-based learning, as well as determine its role in the enhancement of skills for mediating concepts. 4. To determine the specificity of teaching a foreign language to bachelor’s degree students majoring in Economics. 5. To develop methodological materials and specific activity forms on the basis of project-based learning to enhance mediating concepts skills of the students. 6. To check the effectiveness of the developed materials by conducting an experiment among the students. The relevance of the problem is determined by the need for specialists with highly developed foreign language communicative skills and foreign language mediation skills, needed in their future profession; the need to enhance the mediation skills formation in shortage of educational materials and teaching aids as well as methods and strategies to assist foreign language educators. The data for the research were collected during university education, through academic and professional practice, with the analysis of Russian and foreign publications on linguistics, psycholinguistics, linguodidactics and methodology of teaching foreign languages, the analysis of textbooks, programs and standards for foreign language training, available on the Internet. The study resulted in the development of educational materials aimed at enhancing mediation, as well as working out sets of activity forms based on using project-based learning.
