The aim of the research is to develop and test an edutainment-based instructional strategy, with a focus on music and multimedia, to foster intercultural communicative competence (ICC) among non-linguistic university students studying English. The study sets the following goals: to define ICC components within Russian and international contexts; to analyze theoretical foundations of edutainment in language education; to assess the pedagogical potential of song-based edutainment for developing linguistic, cognitive, emotional, and axiological aspects of ICC; to design and implement a songintegrated strategy; and to evaluate its effectiveness through experimental teaching. The relevance of the research lies in the need to motivate students and enhance cultural understanding in multilingual educational settings where English is not a core discipline. To address this, the study integrates emotionally rich, value-oriented materials that align with modern students’ learning needs. The data were collected through literature analysis, classroom observation, surveys, testing, and reflection activities. The experimental teaching was based on adapted materials from the Language Hub Intermediate textbook, enhanced with song-based content. A key outcome of the study was the development and implementation of a structured song-integrated edutainment module. This module offers a systematic approach combining language learning with intercultural and emotional development through multimedia.
