Данная работа посвящена проведению анализа особенностей развития отношений Европейского союза со странами Западно-Балканского региона в конце ХХ – начале XXI века. Задачи, которые решались в ходе исследования: 1. изучить теоретико-методологические и исторические предпосылки формирования отношений Европейского союза и Западных Балкан; 2. рассмотреть Западные Балканы как геополитическое понятие; 3. проанализировать теории европейской интеграции и политики расширения применительно к Западным Балканам; 4. провести анализ основных этапов в эволюционном процессе развития отношений Европейского союза с Западными Балканами; 5. предложить характеристику этапов отношений в контексте политики стабилизации (1999-2010-е годы); 6. рассмотреть современную фазу отношений Европейского союза с Западными Балканами (2010-е годы – 2020 годы). В результате работы был проведен комплексный анализ эволюции отношений Европейского союза со странами Западно-Балканского региона, что позволило рассмотреть основные этапы интеграции, возникающие вопросы и проблемы и состояние отношений на современном этапе.

This work is devoted to analyzing the specifics of the development of relations between the European Union and the countries of the Western Balkan region in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries. Tasks that were solved during the research: 1. to study the theoretical, methodological and historical prerequisites for the formation of relations between the European Union and the Western Balkans; 2. consider the Western Balkans as a geopolitical concept; 3. to analyze the theories of European integration and enlargement policy in relation to the Western Balkans; 4. to analyze the main stages in the evolutionary process of the development of relations between the European Union and the Western Balkans; 5. to propose a description of the stages of relations in the context of stabilization policy (1999-2010); 6. consider the current phase of the European Unions relations with the Western Balkans (2010s – 2020s). As a result of the work, a comprehensive analysis of the evolution of relations between the European Union and the countries of the Western Balkan region was carried out, which made it possible to consider the main stages of integration, emerging issues and problems, and the state of relations at the present stage.
