Данная работа посвящена изучению теоретических и практических основ культурно-познавательного туризма как стратегического направления развития туристической отрасли России. В работе проводится анализ особенностей, проблем и перспектив развития культурно-познавательного туризма на примере Санкт-Петербурга. Задачи, которые решались в ходе исследования: 1) изучить понятие и особенности культурно-познавательного туризма; 2) рассмотреть факторы, влияющие на развитие культурно-познавательный туризм; 3) охарактеризовать основные туристические объекты Санкт-Петербурга; 4) раскрыть формы и направления международного сотрудничества в сфере культурно-познавательного туризма; 5) изучить проблемы и перспективы развития культурно-познавательного туризма в Санкт-Петербурге. В результате были проанализированы проблемные аспекты развития культурно-познавательного туризма в Санкт-Петербурге, на основе чего удалось выделить перспективные направления совершенствования данного вида туризма в настоящее время.

This work is devoted to the study of the theoretical and practical foundations of cultural and educational tourism as a strategic direction for the development of the tourism industry in Russia. The paper analyzes the features, problems and prospects of the development of cultural and educational tourism using the example of St. Petersburg. Tasks that were solved during the research: 1) definition of the concept, essence and features of cultural and educational tourism in the context of modern tourism. 2) analysis of the factors influencing the development of cultural and educational tourism in the Russian Federation. 3) characteristics of cultural heritage sites of St. Petersburg as the basis of cultural and educational tourism. 4) consideration of forms and directions of international cooperation in the field of cultural and educational tourism in St. Petersburg. 5) identification of problematic aspects and prospects for the development of cultural and educational tourism in St. Petersburg. As a result, the problematic aspects of the development of cultural and educational tourism in St. Petersburg were analyzed, because of which it was possible to identify promising areas for improving this type of tourism at the present time.
