Against the backdrop of advancing the “dual carbon” goals and deepening ecological civilization construction, green credit, as a core tool for financial support of green development, has emerged as a crucial means to promote the optimization and upgrading of industrial structures and achieve high-quality economic development. Gansu Province, serving as an ecological barrier in western China and a resource-based province, has long had an industrial structure dominated by traditional high-energy-consuming and high-polluting industries, facing numerous bottlenecks in industrial upgrading. This paper takes the period from 2012 to 2025 as the research cycle. Based on the actual development of the industrial structure and green credit in Gansu Province, it defines relevant core concepts, analyzes the current development status and compatibility of the two, explores the practical dilemmas and underlying reasons for green credit to empower industrial structure upgrading, and finally puts forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions. This provides theoretical support and practical references for Gansu Province to leverage green credit to drive industrial structure optimization and achieve coordinated progress in ecological protection and economic development.
