The aim of the research is to develop and integrate into the educational process the instruments expanding and ensuring recirculation of professionally oriented English vocabulary. The relevance of the problem is substantiated by the need to prepare competent future specialists in the field of Economics with high level of foreign language proficiency, knowledge of professionally oriented vocabulary, and independency when it comes to autonomous learning outside of the classroom. Different types of data were collected for the research: the psychological characteristics of students of non-linguistic majors, the theoretical methodological back-ground connected to teaching professionally oriented vocabulary, the possibilities of using the Narrow Reading method for enhancing the professional lexicon, the educa-tional value of the generated texts, the results of the pedagogical experiment conducted with two groups of economics students. The study resulted in the development of the online supplementary course based on the lexical units found in the glossary of “The Business 2.0” Students’ Book, which is used during classes with economics students at the Polytechnic university.
