The aim of the research is to develop a set of exercises for teaching listening to students majoring in Economics based on authentic audiovisual materials in the context of multimodal communication. The research set the following goals: 1. To conduct a theoretical analysis of the problem of teaching listening in EFL classrooms. 2. To analyse the role of non-verbal components in understanding spoken messages. 3. To substantiate the educational value of using authentic audiovisual materials in the process of teaching listening to EFL students. 4. To create educational content for teaching listening based on authentic audiovisual materials in the context of multimodal communication. 5. To test the developed set of exercises in the real educational process and analyse the results obtained. The relevance of teaching listening to students majoring in Economics using authentic audiovisual materials is determined by the growing role of oral and audio-visual communication in the modern digital environment. Today, professional and educational information is increasingly transmitted through podcasts, video lectures, interviews, presentations, videoconferences, financial news, analytical programmes and other media formats. Therefore, future economists need to be able not only to read professional texts, but also to perceive and interpret spoken foreign-language in-formation containing economic terminology, numerical data, arguments, cause-and-effect relations and statistical indicators. Authentic audiovisual materials are especially valuable for developing listening skills because they present foreign-language speech in its natural context. Unlike traditional audio recordings, they include visual, prosodic and non-verbal elements, such as intonation, gestures, facial expressions, visual images and on-screen text. These components support comprehension and reflect the multimodal nature of real communication. As a result, students learn to understand spoken messages more effective-ly, identify key information, interpret meaning through context and develop readiness for real-life professional communication. The data for the research were collected from domestic and foreign scientific literature on pedagogy, methodology of foreign language teaching, listening comprehension, multimodal communication and the use of authentic audiovisual materials in EFL classrooms. The study resulted in the set of exercises development aimed at teaching listening to students majoring in Economics through the use of authentic audiovisual materials.
