The aim of the research is to develop and test a set of exercises designed to foster foreign language monologue speech for engineering students on the basis of infographics. The research set the following tasks: to identify the methodological foundations of teaching foreign language monologue speech in higher education; to determine the specific features of teaching monologue speech for engineering students; to determine the methodological potential of infographics as a didactic tool in teaching foreign language monologue speech for engineering students; to justify the use of infographics as a means of developing monologue speech; to develop and test a set of exercises aimed at developing foreign language monologue speech skills using infographics and analyze its effectiveness. The data for the research were collected through the implementation of an experimental teaching process, where the effectiveness of the infographics-based set of exercises was assessed in a group of first-year engineering students. Data were obtained via entry and final assignments, observations, and assessment of monologue performances conducted throughout the approbation. The study resulted in improvements in the foreign language monologue speech skills of the students in the group. Statistical analysis of the results revealed that the systematic use of infographics positively impacted key aspects of monologue speech, such as formulating the topic and communicative purpose of the utterance, logical structuring and argumentation, coherence and continuity of speech, use of professional shipbuilding terminology, and adaptation of the monologue to the addressee and situation, compared to the results of the entry test.
